This afternoon I was at the official DotNetNuke 6.0 Product Launch at Microsoft in Schiphol.
The presentation was given by coworkers of Xcess, Ernst Peter Tamminga (Chief Executive Officer) and André van Ramshorst (Account manager) and also by DotNetNuke coworkers, Mitch Bishop (Chief Marketing Officer) and Bob Cortale (Senior Vice-President, Sales).
The most important new things in DotNetNuke 6 are the conversion of the core language from VB.Net to C#, a new GUI (that was really needed), and a lot of improvement in quality and stability of the core code.
The presentation given by Ernst Peter Tamminga went more in detail about the technical possibilities with DotNetNuke and he showed how easy is to create and modify content and the layout of a site.
Interesting was also the new Sharepoint Connector Module (available only in the Enterprise Edition of DotNetNuke) which it makes possible to get content from a Sharepoint Server.
It seems that DotNetNuke is becoming a more professional and stable product, i only hope that the Community Edition in the future will still be available free with the same License Model (MIT License) as it has now.
